HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL AT LAST!
Apologies for the lateness of the New Year Wishes to you all. We have had such a busy time over the last couple of weeks - Christmas with immediate family - then vistitors arriving from Engerland for MIL's 70th Birthday on Auld Years Night. Been hard to take time out to take a breath never mind anything else.
Had a wonderful time though - My MIL knew she was being taken out for her birthday by both sons and families - she had no idea whatsoever that my husband and I had invited the relatives from Engerland. She was highly delighted and so were we that she was. Yes it was fraught with the usual family nonsense that happens when these occasions occur - but we all did well taking a step back and remembering why we were all there in the first place. My darling daughter was not there and that was tough - she does not do well with these sorts of occasions - people she does not recognise and lots of noise. She spent the time with my parents and was all tucked up in bed nice and safe and warm. Both boys were with us though and they had a ball - especially the eldest Danny who has many stories stored in his head for bribery purposes at a later point!! The weather was horrid and me at my best would not spoil my brand new suit by covering it with a coat! At the end of it all though we all had an amazing meal and a great night. We all then went back to my MIL's for The bells approaching and me as usual spent the half hour before and the half hour after in tears. Family joke = Heather eventually laughing as they were all laughing at me being a silly cow weeping my eyes out. They are hearless they really are - doesn't everyone sob like loons on Auld Years Night??? Our visitors, my hubband, the boys and I never got in until 4am. I was amazed that the boys were still awake and still giggling they all popped off to bed and then up again at 9am to do it all over again. (Not me though - I have not been in bed since 30th December!) Our visitor were a delight and I have never laughed as hard as I did with them in a very very long time. I love them to bits and I miss them so much now that they have gone home. They thought I was nuts when I met them 12years ago and I think I did not dissapoint them. There was much hilarity when they were shown the rooms they were staying in. All new bedding - new lush fluffy towels and a Ferrero Roche on each pillow. They giggled like mad and then huggd me for taking the time to do what I did. There was no kindness meant in what I did - just a bloody good giggle.... lol. Thank you Dearest Darling Billy - Scary Anne and the Scrumptious Cuddly John - I miss you all and I cannot wait to see you all in the summer when we do our annual visit to the beautiful county of Kent - Lets hope more adventures await all of us.
Yesterday was spent putting the house to rights and then I had an opticians appointment that the nut doctor sent me for - I have had severe pain in my right eye for ages and she wanted me checked over - oh that was fun - NOT - I don't really need glasses - well the least amount prescription available but the optician is sending me to an eye specialist as she wants further investigations into my eye pain. Oh Goody - NOT!
Today has been spent doing absolutely nothing - the boys have been in their rooms and I have been lazing. I am exhausted but sleep will not come - Graham had to go back to work today and as I type he is asleep on the chair opposite me - he is so lucky I would do anything to be able to sleep - but as I can't I am off to surf and generally be nosy on all your blogs.
Very long and probably very boring blog entry ending.
Hope you are all safe and warm and I want to wish you all you wish for you and yours in this year that is 2007
Take care
Huge Hugs
H xx
